On April 1, 2024, Michigan’s Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, signed the Michigan Family Protection Act into law. This long-overdue law overturned an antiquated law that prohibited, and even criminalized, surrogacy in the state. With the passing of the MFPA, Michigan families are now free to seek alternative methods of family creation, through assisted reproduction, including surrogacy and IVF with the comfort of knowing that the legal bond with their child is guaranteed by law.
After 17 years representing Intended Parents and Surrogates in Ohio, I am excited to finally be able to apply my knowledge and experience in the areas of IVF and Surrogacy to assist Michigan residents in the drafting of gestational surrogacy contracts and court proceedings to ensure that your legal relationship with your child is secure.
